June 26. The much-anticipated KatHABI: Textile Innovation Fashion Show took center stage, showcasing the remarkable IPB Abaca Hybrid at the Manila Hotel’s Centennial Hall.
The event was held in celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of the UPLB Institute of Plant Breeding, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of Philippine agricultural innovation. It was truly a wonderful evening where fashion and agricultural innovation seamlessly came together, highlighting the potential and global competitiveness of Philippine fibers in the textile and fashion industries.
The North-Diamond Team was deeply honored to be part of this prestigious occasion. Representing North-Diamond were Ariel Sardalla, Managing Director; Tony Adriano, Senior IDr. and Design Consultant; Jennifer Ilustrisimo, Business Process Analyst; and Marjorie Patibo, Customer Experience Lead.
Adding grace and significance to the evening was the presence of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, who graced the KatHABI runway event. The show featured stunning creations from renowned Filipino designers, including Bacudio, Buendia, Espina, Panizales, and members of the Davao Fashion and Design Council, alongside the talented in-house design team of DOST-PTRI.
